Fossil-Free Mine

At the Koutzi underground mine in Greece, Grecian Magnesite set out to develop a fossil-free mining operation without the use of explosives.

Narrow ore veins, confined spaces and challenging geology made traditional methods difficult and inefficient.

A Brokk 500 equipped with a BHB705 breaker enabled selective rock removal and remote operation, supporting a shift to all-electric mining with lower emissions, improved safety and reduced operational waste.
