New opportunities for infrastructure work

Brokk UK have recently achieved a certificate of acceptance from Network Rail, allowing Brokk robots to be used on Network Rail’s infrastructure.

Safety is always our number one focus and receiving this certificate of acceptance within this heavily regulated industry, feels like a testament to our commitment to safer work sites. And in addition, it provides assurance that our products are safe and compatible when used on or near Network Rail infrastructure, says Nathan Sayers, Managing Director Brokk UK.

Using Brokk robots on the infrastructure will increase the mechanization of tasks within areas of limited access. Thanks to the remote-control system the robot minimizes risks when working on or near the railway and it also reduces exposure to hazardous silica dust for the workers involved.

The electrical driven Brokk robots introduce emissions free work within tunnels and built-up environments around the railway which is important for Network Rail, who constantly strive to reduce impact on the surrounding areas.

Brokk robots are known as multipurpose machines and the possibilities to use different attachments on the robot will be one important feature for Network Rail. The tool change is done quickly at site, which minimizes downtime between different work tasks.

We hope that this certificate of acceptance will create new opportunities for us, as well as for our existing customers, enabling new business prospects, says Nathan.
